Do you like to while away your free time in the fresh air, enjoying magnificent views of the city or the surrounding nature?

Are you striving to create the most comfortable atmosphere and stylish interior in your own home?

A compact hanging chair will definitely come in handy - a hit of recent years, which many designers recommend using in design. We will tell you about the most popular types, design features and the best ways to place such a piece of furniture.

A swing chair can replace the usual hammock in the garden, a chaise longue or a classic rocking chair. But very often it is used as a comfortable seat where you can isolate yourself from the outside world, enjoy the peace and quiet, relax and have a great rest (and sometimes take a nap).

Suspended chair cocoon to the ceiling has a number of advantages:

  • Comfortable, spacious and completely safe.
  • Does not make unpleasant sounds when you swing in it (squeak, etc.).
  • Sturdy, reliable, perfectly withstands up to 150 kg of live weight.

Classification of cocoon chairs

A modern hanging chair, the price of which depends on materials and dimensions, is usually designed for one person of average build. Children's options are distinguished into a separate category, but adult cocoon models are still the most popular, since they are universal. Slightly less common are large swing chairs designed for 2 or more people. However, they will require more storage space.

Today, you can choose a hanging chair for a room or a summer cottage for every taste. Here's a quick overview of the common types:

  1. With a rigid frame - made of light metals and alloys, plastic and polymers. It looks lightweight and compact, has increased strength and reliability.
  2. With a soft frame - has a lot in common with a traditional hammock. It is usually mounted on a curved base, has high stability and a sufficiently large swinging amplitude.
  3. "Cocoon" (with solid or wicker walls) - allows you to maximally isolate yourself from the surrounding environment. You will be able to retire and be alone with yourself and your thoughts.
  4. Drop-shaped - the best option for decorating a nursery. Compact, original in appearance and very convenient for the baby. Able to replace a children's house or hut.

Recommendations for attaching hanging chairs

The stylishly designed hanging cocoon chair selected from our catalog can be attached in several ways. Such furniture is ideal both for placement in enclosed spaces (in a house, apartment or in the country) and in the open air.

We offer several proven methods of fixing hanging products:

  1. To the ceiling beams. Massive beams made of natural wood that do not have cracks or other damage will perfectly withstand 100-200 kg of additional load. Usually a metal ring, carabiner or hook is put on the beam, from which the chair is hung. Long bolts can also be used to secure the mountings.
  2. Anchor - for a concrete slab. If your ceilings are made of concrete (which is often found in multi-storey buildings), it is enough to drill a hole in it of a suitable diameter and insert an anchor into it. After that, you can safely fix the suspended structures.
  3. Chemical anchor - for hollow core slabs. Hollow holes in ceiling slabs reduce their strength. Therefore, preliminary strengthening is required: first, a hole is drilled for fasteners, then it is filled with a special polymer mixture - you can find it in any building materials store. After that, an anchor is inserted into the filled recess and left to harden completely (2-3 days).
  4. Brackets with threaded sockets - for plasterboard and false ceilings. If you plan to place a suspended chair in a room where a beautiful repair has already been made, and the ceiling is tightly sewn up, use special brackets. At one end, they enter the concrete hidden behind the suspended structure. The other end, facing the room, has the thread required to screw in the collar with the mounting ring.

The easiest way to attach a hanging cocoon chair is to throw a pair of strong chains or thick ropes over the ceiling beam. A similar method can be used when placing the chair in the garden, gazebo or veranda. If desired, you can attach furniture to a thick branch of a tall tree. For free-standing "cocoons" on the leg, you just need to clear some of the soil and level its surface.

Successful examples of hanging chair placement

Looking to buy a hanging chair but don't know where or how to attach it? We present a selection of the most successful options for placing such furniture:

  1. On a balcony or loggia (open or glazed). As a rule, a cocoon will fit perfectly into one of the free corners, next to a bookcase, shelves or a compact table. It will help create a cozy corner for rest and relaxation.
  2. In the living room. An ideal place for a hanging chair. You are as if with the rest
